Amidst the giant forests and sweeping hills of the Ardennes lie numerous historic climbs famous for their appearance in the classical race Liège – Bastogne – Liège. The oldest cycling race in the world.
In other words the Ardennes will offer some beautiful cycling amidst some stunning natural landscapes, complete solitude both on the road or off road on the famous Gravel Roads of the ‘Hautes Fagnes’ National Park.

Not many roads in Flanders or Northern France are gravel, in the Ardennes however you’ll find plenty of thrilling, rolling gravel roads through the National Park of the Hautes Fagnes and some of the most stunning forests this region has to offer.

BASTOGNE
Famous worldwide, not only for being the oldest cycling classic in the world but also for the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes during WWII.
LIEGE BASTOGNE LIEGE
The oldest classic race which was won 5 times by the greatest of all time Eddy Merckx. His statue can be found on the top of the Stockeu climb.
FACTS
Spa : Belgian town in the middle of the Ardennes where you can find the the origins of thermal baths.
La Redoutable: famous cycling beer in the region ‘for the climbers only’. one strong triple blond and one IPA version.
TERRAIN
Longer climbs at around 3 or 4 km with gradients up to 7%. Hautes Fagnes : National Park in the German speaking part of Belgium and home to the best gravel roads of the country.
